Independent layers
One-story · front garage · 75 × 73.7 ft bounding rectangle · 1 storyOriginal illustrative room zones and schematic footprints, not licensed architectural drawings. Dimensions and building shapes are concept assumptions; verify actual construction plans.
Stage 4B · Upload your own planFiles are processed in this browser tab only and are not uploaded to Lot Look servers. Reloading clears the uploaded image. Avoid sensitive plan documents on shared devices. Crop blank margins before uploading for accurate footprint bounds. Room text in an uploaded image rotates and mirrors with the image.
Fit not evaluated — select a parcel and place the house
Room labels are always part of the plan and appear when zoomed in sufficiently. Rotation is clockwise from north. Turn on the house layer, then click a location on the map. Repeat to reposition.

Environmental map overlays

Live layers are queried for the visible map area when enabled. A blank layer is NOT evidence of a buildable parcel. These overlays do not verify whether a building footprint intersects a regulated area.

FEMA flood hazard legend — colors and patterns

Symbols below come directly from FEMA’s live map legend, so they match the rendered flood layer. Read the labels as well as the colors; color alone does not establish flood risk.

Loading official FEMA symbols…

How to read common flood zones
A / AE
High-risk: 1% annual-chance floodplain. AE includes determined base flood elevations.
AO / AH
High-risk shallow flooding; check mapped depths and elevations.
V / VE
High-risk coastal flood areas with wave hazards.
Shaded X
Moderate mapped flood hazard, often the 0.2% annual-chance floodplain.
Unshaded X
Minimal mapped flood hazard; flooding remains possible.
D
Flood hazard has not been determined.

Some zones may not appear as colored areas on this map. FEMA’s service may use additional categories, boundary lines and patterns. An unavailable or blank image does not mean a parcel is flood-free.

FEMA official map symbology · FEMA flood zone definitions

Wisconsin DNR Wetland Inventory and FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer are preliminary screening datasets. Wetland boundaries require field verification and agency review; FEMA mapping may be incomplete or updated. Zoning remains unconnected. No setback, permitting, flood insurance, or legal buildability determination is made.

Place and show the house, then enable its shadow. Drag either slider to see how the simplified flat-roof silhouette changes. The house location—not map center—drives the calculation once placed. Height is an adjustable estimate, not an actual plan measurement. Shadows assume level ground and exclude roof shape, trees, terrain, and neighboring structures. Very low-angle shadows are capped for map readability. Not a solar-energy or site-feasibility assessment.

Home orientation comparison · Stage 3B
Compare four rotations of the same schematic home at its placed location

Enable and place the house on the map to compare orientations at the actual location.

House placement recommendations · Stage 4D
Preliminary preference ranking for the selected concept footprint

Select a parcel boundary on the map, then compare sampled positions and rotations. Scores describe preferences, not buildability.

Choose a parcel outline, then calculate recommendations.

Method: samples 121 candidate centers and four rotations, checks the user-traced polygon (when available) or concept bounding rectangle against mapped parcel boundaries, then ranks winter rear-wall solar incidence, lower summer afternoon rear-wall incidence, and distance from mapped parcel edges. Results depend on data accuracy and sampled locations; they do not guarantee the best placement. Scores are relative preference indicators, not verified yard area, sunlight hours, HVAC savings, or legal feasibility. Setbacks, driveway access, road frontage, easements, utilities, wetlands, slopes, zoning, and actual building dimensions are NOT evaluated. Do not use these results for construction decisions.

Parcel fit is a preliminary map-data screen, not legal buildability. No setback, access, site grading, zoning, easement, or verified architectural-outline checks. Room zones are schematic and not construction drawings. A visible fit is not a buildability determination.
